Helgeland Ferdigbetong AS has produced ready-mix concrete since 1965. But the factory started making concrete elements as early as 1952.

Helgeland Ferdigbetong has been working on energy efficiency and low-carbon concrete for a number of years. In the fall of 2023, we put a new mixing plant from Tecwill into operation. With increased silo capacities on both powder silos and aggregate silos, we can meet new environmental requirements in the future.

We have kept the old plant as a reserve plant. The idea is also to use the old plant as a research station. We are constantly testing new products. We have 3 permanent employees who produce the concrete, we hire transport and other services.

About the partnership

Helgeland Ferdigbetong wants to help test new products. We know today that simply crushing concrete and using it as aggregate in new concrete is not profitable and does not provide any increased environmental benefits. We need a new tool that makes this possible. We have crushed a batch of concrete. We have full control over what the crushed concrete contains. When the Thesus program comes up with a product that will make it possible to reuse crushed concrete, we will test the mix. We will also cast a structure that we can see the long-term impact of.
