Athenian Brewery S.A. is the largest brewer in Greece, active in the country for 62 years. It was founded in 1963 by a group of Greek businesses and is today a member of the HEINEKEN N.V. Group. It operates three productions units in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras and two privately owned malting plants in Thessaloniki and Patras. Since 2008, it has been implementing the first and largest Contract Barley Cultivation Program through which it procures Greek barley to cover 100% of the needs for the production of its products. The Greek raw materials in combination with the modern breweries and the two privately owned malting plants create a fully integrated Greek route for the products of the Athenian Brewery.
