A.SPIRE is the European Association committed to managing and implementing the Processes4Planet co-programmed Partnership, transforming the European process industries towards circularity, climate neutrality, and competitiveness. The association represents innovative process industries, with over 170 industrial and research members from more than 20 European countries. A.SPIRE brings together world-leading sectors operating from Europe, including cement, ceramics, chemicals, engineering, minerals and ores, non-ferrous metals, pulp and paper, refining, steel, and water. The mission of A.SPIRE is to ensure the development of enabling technologies and best practices across all stages of large-scale existing value chain production, contributing to a resource-efficient process industry.
Within the THESEUS project, A.SPIRE’s added value will be fostering synergies with existing Processes4Planet funded Hubs4Circularity projects, specifically in the types of similar technologies as in THESEUS. This action will ensure connecting urban, industrial and research stakeholders engaged in the development of H4Cs across Europe, sharing know-how and common tools. The result will be the development of the Common H4C guidelines: a consultative document aimed at giving the first insights to what it means to develop a H4C from the industrial perspective, providing technical and technological guidelines, ways of assessing viability of a hub, etc. It will also include a checklist or roadmap for newcomers launching their H4C and ultimately allowing for mature technologies, or a combination thereof, to be deployed to other Hubs and, eventually, widespread market adoption.
