Clean Energy Ltd. was founded in 2010 by researchers of CERTH/ Chemical Process & Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) , in order to support the Institute on the further development, promotion and commercialization of innovative technology concepts in the thermal utilization of biofuels. The company also cooperates with other companies and institutes worldwide towards the further development and promotion of innovative technologies, which are in the first commercialization stage and have a considerable potential to become highly competitive in the future. Clean Energy Ltd provides also a wide portfolio of services to potential investors in the field of biomass and waste recovered fuels utilization for power and heat production.
Clean Energy Ltd in the framework of THESEUS project will be responsible for the real implementation of greek pilot in Ptolemaida. In charge of necessary studies and permissions (environmental etc) needed for the construction of the solar thermal system (provided from TVPSolar) and its connection to CPERI building (solar cooling through an adsorption chiller) and to the District Heating network of Ptolemaida in order to provide solar heating and cooling to Mpodosakeio Hospital of Ptolemaida.
Dr. Nikolaos Margaritis, is Managing Director of CLEAN ENERGY Ltd (CERTHs spin off) since 2013. He is a Mechanical Engineer (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, AUTh) with a Phd on lean NOx traps operation. He has also expertise in design, operation of experimental facilities and characterization of alternative fuels (biomass, SRF). He has participated in several national and European projects (above 45) for promotion of bioenergy in urban and rural areas, District heating from biomass and alternative energy sources, development of regional biomass action plans etc. He is also involved in projects related to green buildings through the use of RES, smart cities and grids, electromobility, application of New European Bauhaus methodology, bioeconomy, green hydrogen applications and waste heat recovery in heavy industry.
Anastasios Tsimplinas is a Senior Project Manager at CLEAN ENERGY with over 15 years of experience spanning Project Management, Web Development, Quality Assurance, Digital Marketing, and Entrepreneurship. In the past three years, he has specialized in EU Project Management, focusing on Horizon 2020, Interreg, and other EU-funded initiatives. With a strong foundation in Electronics and Information Technology, he combines technical expertise with strategic leadership, particularly in AI, STEAM education, and Computational Thinking. His multidisciplinary approach enables him to manage complex projects, drive innovation, and deliver high-impact results in research and technology.
