About the partnership

Bricks with increased recycled content: CDW fines (and glass as a binder in some cases) will be demonstrated in the brick production at KEBE: i) Apply pre-homogenisation strategy to ensure stable chemistry of the raw materials. This includes laboratory mixing strategies of refined CDW to assess chemical and mineralogical properties. ii) Based on laboratory-made bricks, refined CDW will replace 10-50% of the clay based natural raw materials in the pilot trials. iii) Each replacement level will be assigned to the product quality (e.g. strength, colour, water absorption, linear shrinkage, bulk density etc.) in order to document and classify the bricks containing refined CDW. iiii) Establish the maximum replacement level of CDW without compromising the quality parameters for most relevant markets (loadbearing and nonloadbearing applications)
