EYDAP is the leading company in Greece in the water sector and one of the largest in Europe, serving almost 40% of the country’s population, supplying Attica Region with high quality drinking water, sewerage and wastewater treatment services following the strategic pillars of safety, efficiency and care for the environment, people and society. Following the principles of circular economy, EYDAP focuses on the development of new Wastewater Treatment Plants, placing, at the same time, significant emphasis on networks’ maintenance, reuse of recycled water, establishment of a non-potable water network, use of renewable energy sources, transition to electrification and overall digital transformation, in order to achieve zero carbon water.

Dr Stelios Samios has been working in EYDAP for 30 years and is an experienced specialist with a demonstrated history of working in the utilities industry. He is skilled in Water Treatment, Quality Management, Environmental Awareness, and Water Resource Management while he has proved analytical skills. He has worked on quality assurance in the quality control department. He is a benchmarking specialist involved in the selection of economic and financial, operational, employee and physical assets data and calculation of suitable performance indicators for the water industry.
Dr Katerina Dimitrou is a Chemist with a PhD in Bioinorganic Chemistry, working in EYDAP since 2003. She undertakes the evaluation of the potential of R&D projects to be introduced as the company’s new activities aiming to promote innovative practices and sustainable development. These activities include among others the utilization of alternative water sources and Sewer Mining technology for irrigation. She is experienced in analytical methods for the determination of various organic compounds in surface, groundwater and drinking water according to ISO and European legislation.
Dr. Theodora Paramana is a senior researcher in EYDAP, responsible for the implementation and coordination of EU and national research projects. She is experienced in the monitoring and management of the marine and coastal environment, as well as in integrated water management. Her main research interests include marine and water policy, sustainable management of the aquatic environment, technologies and monitoring methods for water and wastewater treatment, monitoring and chemical behaviour study of nutrients and heavy metals in the aquatic environment, maritime spatial planning.
Dr. Christos Pouliaris, is a Geologist with over 10 years of experience in EU-funded projects, focusing on water resources management, hydrological modelling and environmental monitoring applications. He holds a PhD from the Technical University of Darmstadt and has gained broad experience in the implementation of water management plans for various applications. Since 2024, he has been a researcher in the R&D Department of EYDAP, working on projects related to water supply, environmental monitoring and sewer mining applications.
Nikiforos Klosteridis is an experienced researcher in EU-funded projects specializing in research, critical problem solving, solution application and communication. Ηe holds a MSc as a Civil Engineer specializing in hydraulic and environmental engineering, while he has extensive knowledge both on and off site. Being able to combine the scientific background and the field experience, he can ensure that all facets of the project will be carried out smoothly and efficiently.
